Buenos Aires, March 24 (NA) — Footballer Lionel Messi arrived in Argentina from the United States this Tuesday and will join the Argentine national team's training session in the afternoon at the facility named after him in Ezeiza. The Rosario player arrived at Ezeiza Airport at 6:45 and headed to the aforementioned facility where the Argentine team will have a closed-door practice at 5:00 PM in preparation for the match against Mauritania, which will take place next Friday at Boca's stadium, according to the Argentine News Agency. Messi returns to Argentina after achieving a new record in his sports career by reaching 900 goals, while also coming off scoring a new goal in the match where Inter Miami defeated New York City 3-2 in the fifth round of the US Major League Soccer. The Argentine star would also be present in the match where the Argentine national team will face Zambia next Tuesday, March 31, which will be the last one on national soil before the 2026 World Cup. Messi joins the footballers who arrived in the country on Monday, including Exequiel Palacios, Nicolás Otamendi, Enzo Fernández, Alexis Mac Allister, Thiago Almada, Franco Mastantuono, Julián Álvarez, Nahuel Molina, Nicolás González, Giuliano Simeone, Nicolás Tagliafico, and Joaquín Panichelli. The Argentine national team will face Mauritania next Friday at 8:15 PM at La Bombonera, while on Tuesday, March 31, they will play at the same stadium against Zambia.
